Line 1: The Investigator
1 pointIn Human Design, our profiles (that fraction number that you see, ⅓, ¼ etc.) tells us a lot about who we are. These numbers are all about the archetypes of our personality and what we are here to do in this life. The profile is taken from the line quality of your Conscious Sun & Earth Gates (right side of the Bodygraph, or Personality side, usually seen in black) and the line quality from your Unconscious Sun & Earth Gates (left side of the Bodygraph, or Design side, usually seen in red). So, if your conscious Sun is 23.1 and your unconscious Sun is 30.3, then your profile would be 1/3. So what does it all mean? Let’s walk through each individual profile line and then put together the two lines that make up your unique design. Before we begin, it’s important to note that the first number in that profile is your Conscious Personality, this means that you have a mental awareness of this line and how that presents itself in your life. You will resonate with this line quality as it’s the information you have access to. The second number in your profile is your Unconscious Body. This may be something that surprises you, something that you’re not quite consciously aware of but you know runs in the background. It’s the quality of your body and what your body needs. Let’s look at a quick example of the 1 / 3 profile. The 1 line is all about collecting information, this line is the investigator and needs a certain amount of information to feel safe. This is what this person will resonate with, they will have awareness around the fact that they like to research, get all the facts, ask lots of questions, and really understand things. The 3rd line quality that runs on the body side is all about trial and error, bonds made and broken, it’s the martyr that has to try things out. So this person is going to have an element of insecurity to them (the 1 / 3’s are known for their insecurities) because they want to have all the information but they also want to experience life on their own terms, experiment often with lots of trial and error, so they can tell others what they found. Can you see how this may play out? Let’s take a look at each Profile line so you can put it together with your own profile! Ready? As we just saw, the first line is all about research and investigation. If you think about a house, as is typically the example given when discussing Profile lines, the first line is going to be the foundation. This line is all about gaining the information to make a secure and stable foundation for the rest of the house. They need all the information to feel safe, they want the blueprint and the details, and so they will question everything to come into deeper understanding. There is also an element of fear and insecurity at this first line level, because if you think about it, that’s what’s needed to create a secure and stable foundation. In order to create something lasting and strong, you have to understand where the cracks may appear. In relationships, this line takes a while to know if it’s right for them or not, and it makes sense too because they need to really understand the other person, really research and investigate that person in order to feel safe enough to decide if this is a relationship they want or not. “The very nature of a Hexagram, the very construct itself, cannot survive without a solid foundation” - Ra Uru Hu1 point

Line 1: The Investigator
1 pointHaha this is spot on for me! I'm constantly researching and going down rabbit holes whenever I'm interested in anything or anyone new in my life! Funny enough, the example you gave is my exact profile: 1/3! And yes, the 3 has historical shown up in my life as trial and error and it totally equates to some insecurity and sometimes makes me hold off on trying new things because of those "broken bonds" as you put it.. This has been very eye-opening and too on point to ignore! Thanks for the resources. I look forward to making time to go through the pdf all about the centers!1 point

What is the purpose of this community?
It's in the name. Learn. Grow. Repeat. But that's probably not enough of an answer. Our technical purpose is teaching people a philosophical approach to revealing and living in accordance with objective reality. Our functional purpose is to bring perspective and to develop a community of people with some things in common who support each other. It's wonderful to be able to talk about the things we do with other people who get it. A good way to think of it is that we're learning to get along with people we disagree with. Atheists and religious people can have conversations that make them better atheists and better religious people. And friends. The same is true with many other false dichotomies. Scientists and spiritualists can have conversations that make them better scientists and better spiritualists. Officer workers and people in the trades. Farmers and city folk. Etc. We give each other insights that help us along our chosen paths without forcing our paths on anyone else. And become friends doing it. That's powerful stuff. So how do we do that? The hardest part is choosing to do it and backing it up with effort. You may find that a commitment to this changes you in unexpected ways. For example, you might experience less fear and have more confidence when you no longer default to being in conflict with others because of who they are. Sometimes I think that the best way to change the world is to teach people who to get along without compulsion, how to separate their interpretations from what is real, and how to see things as they are. Usually I recover from this quickly and go back to not wanting to change anybody. They'll come around if they are so inclined. We are not here to change you. But change may happen. We are not here to fix you. But you may find tools that help you fix yourself. We are not here to change The System. But you might discover how to build a better one. And along the way you can make friends and have fun. I plan to spend the rest of my life doing this.1 point

Line 4: The Opportunist
1 pointThe 4th line is known as the Opportunist and this line is all about networking! If you have a 4th line in your life, you know they have probably never met a stranger in their life. They probably know all sorts of people and have no problem making friends! The 4th line is all about being a friend or a lover but most likely it won’t be both at the same time, it’s confidant or not. The 4th line will either be your friend or your lover. This is its struggle, the 4th line will also not leave a relationship until it has something else in its place and not just a relationship but a job or a house etc. It has something in place, something ready to go, something in its network that allows it to ease into something new. It’s about security for the 4th line, as the 4th line is the start of the second floor of the house (back to that house analogy). For a 4th line their network is extremely important, as it’s their source of security and opportunity. If following your Strategy and Authority as a 4th line you’ll find that if you ever find yourself in need of support, jobs, housing, inspiration etc. it is likely to come through your close relationships and immediate network. The 4th line is about cultivating and attracting deep and personal relationships with close contacts. “The 4th line is about the human resources of the material plane; people are the biggest decisions and investments they make in their life”. - Ra Uru Hu1 point

Are there opportunities for leadership or volunteering within the community?
So many. You can become a referrer, a creator, and a maker. Or simply a contributor. The LearnGrowRepeat website is just a convenient vehicle to start bringing people together to share our ideas. A website is actually a poor vehicle for building a community, but it does have the advantage of not being limited by geography and gives us something to rally around. As our community grows, in person events will become more important and more frequent. If you want events to happen, you can help make them happen. The goal is not for the LearnGrowRepeat founders to organized and do everything. It's not to have a hierarchy like that. The goal is to have a community. The level of activity in a community depends on all of its members. Just simply having events will take a lot of people in many different roles. Some of these events will be formal, some informal, and some will be virtual or hybrid. A conference with seminars and workshops all day is just one type of event. I'm just as interested in dinner in a private room with 20 or so friends from LearnGrowRepeat. Or teaching a class in person. Or a community volunteer effort we select and perform together. Or just sharing cocktails. Could a virtual cocktail hour work? We won't know until we've tried it. A few times. And what about events for people who don't live near the others? You can help grow your local community so that it can become large enough to support in person events. We'll help in whatever ways we can. I don't know about you, but I'd love to travel to other places near or far to meet with a group of eager and enthusiastic people who share the ideas we discuss on LearnGrowRepeat. That would be so much better than a generic vacation at a generic theme park. If I can go back to being serious for a moment. Events give us a chance to use the techniques you learn online at LearnGrowRepeat to improve your relationships with people in stressful circumstances. In person events are not just time spent together. They are practice. If you really want to transform yourself, you need practice. And it will help to practice with other people who get the concept of what we're trying to do. Whether it's leadership, volunteering, or some other role will depend on the scope and purpose of the event. Working together to figure out how to organize our efforts and accomplish great things is part of how we can practice our ideas and validate how we've internalized them. .1 point

What motivates members to create content, offerings, and services within the community?
The best way to learn something is to teach it. For people in the LearnGrowRepeat community, that's a powerful incentive. But we also want people to be able to afford to put effort into our community. Every community has an economy. Most economies use currency. But even the ones that don't have an economy. So does LearnGrowRepeat. Part of learning how to live in a community or how to create a community is to figure out how to have an economy with a minimum of unintended consequences. One of the reasons we use credits for all transactions on LearnGrowRepeat is so that our economy is separate from the economy outside the community. We are working on ways that people can exchange credits with each other in various ways to encourage economic activity. We want to incentivize people to create content, offerings, and services so that the community has a healthy economy. We charge for subscriptions mainly to keep trolls out of the community, but also to pay development and hosting bills. We set 20-30% of all subscription revenue aside for incentives for people to refer others and create content. We do this partly so that people can pay for their subscriptions without having to pay cash and partly so that active community members can be rewarded. Refer 200 subscribers and you can not only have a free subscription for years, but you can put over $1000 in your pocket. In a similar way, we have rewards for people who create content. And we also enable some users to use the LearnGrowRepeat platform to offer their goods and services. The way we see it is if they produce something that community members are interested in, isn't it better to deal with people in the community instead of strangers? We don't endorse, sell or support their offerings for them, we just enable community members to transact with community members if they choose. It also enables us to broaden the value provided to subscribers. You will find training, events, and services here that is offered by community members as well as that produced by LearnGrowRepeat. Over time we hope to see so much of that, our subscribers learn, grow, and repeat forever. If you are a creator or a maker and want to be a part of our economy, then reach out to one of our staff members or your Tour Guide. If you aren't a creator or a maker, you can still be a referrer. If you are not a creator, maker, or a referrer you can still be a valuable part of our community, simply by participating in our discussions, events, and courses. This is how we think an economy should work --- people being able to do what they need to do, engaging in the ways they choose to engage, and working together to thrive.1 point

How does the community handle conflicts or disagreements among members?
We focus on: Removing our interpretation of the conflict from the reality of it. Many conflicts arise from conclusions that are not based on objective reality and are instead based on our interpretation of it. Conflicts like these are largely unnecessary and usually unproductive for both parties. Being able to learn from people we disagree with and learning how to approach discussions to achieve that goal. When a conflict is based on objective reality, both parties can still learn something from it and walk away having gained something, even if it was not what they expected. Managing our expectations to either better achieve them or recognize that they depended on someone else who was not obligated to fulfill them. We don't debate to win, we debate to learn. We're not motivated to defeat other ideas, we're motivated to find ideas we can cherish. An idea that does not appeal to us is easily left behind. Being very careful with advanced topics like politics, advocacy, and evangelism. In general, the way politics is practiced is dysfunctional. We do not participate in that. Too many people stop thinking and start cheering for their team when politics comes up, so we leave that for advanced classes with participants who have proven they can separate their loyalty from the application of their personal philosophies to governance and learn from people they disagree with. We also avoid advocacy and evangelism because it involves either recruiting or alienating other members of the community. If you are here to persuade, convince, or advocate, you may have come to the wrong place. You can be religious with being an evangelist and discuss important topics without advocating. We’re here to share and not really to encourage or even convince. Much. Within the LearnGrowRepeat community it’s better to not be so concerned about what people think or believe, and instead to focus on the relevance and meaning behind thoughts and beliefs. But mostly we just try to be the kind of people who can turn lemons into lemonade. We'd rather create and inspire then argue and tear things down. We have the advantage of being able to choose who we let into our community. And if someone we let in becomes a troll, we may have to exile them. A troll is someone who is preventing others from learning and whose behavior does not support discussion. Our moderators treat conflicts as teaching moments, to get people to focus on how they are speaking instead of what they are saying. Moderation actions, which can include censorship (even though we find it distasteful) and exile from the community (rare but possible), are never taken alone. Moderators consult with each other on every action taken. Or better yet, on how to avoid taking action. We don't roleplay how to win conflicts. We roleplay how to avoid letting people who can't manage their emotions or who cause conflicts from joining the community. We are hear to teach and don't want to be distracted by discipline, so we seek community members who don't require discipline.1 point

How diverse is the community in terms of backgrounds, interests, and demographics?
To us, the most important thing about you isn't the form you take, who you are attracted to, who you associate with, who you support, or anything like that. The most important thing about you to us, the very thing we cherish, is the ideas and insights you bring to our discussions. We love new ideas and new insights. You can be a minority of one with something interesting to talk about, and we'll love you for it. We are diverse in our diversity. What do I mean by that? I mean we look beyond ethnicity, culture, or tribe. We don't care what you believe. We're not here to change you. We are all here to explore and discover. We share best practices for exploration and discovery. We don't chose your path. We want to bring people from as many belief systems and cultures into a place where we share common ideas of how people should get along with each other. We care far more about how you behave when you disagree with someone than we do with what you believe. Part of getting along with each other means we're not trying to force people to believe as we do. We are not trying to compel people to do what we think is right. We want to be able to openly discuss what is right, what is wrong, and how we know whether that is true. We don't have to agree on what is true, but we do agree on how to explore the nature of truth so that we can all learn from each other.1 point

Line 3: The Martyr
0 pointsThe third line is known as the martyr. Someone with a 3 in their profile is here to experiment and experience life. It’s not good enough to just tell them information, they need to trial and error everything in order to know if it’s something that will work or not. If you know someone with a third line, or are a third line yourself, you know this is a deeply resilient profile, going through experiences that would break the average bear only to come out on the other side to say, “Oh yeah, you shouldn’t do X because…” And truly, this insight through personal embodied experience is your gift. The third line is about bonds made and broken. They are constantly in this trial and error phase of things, they literally need to make and break bonds constantly. Now, if you’re in a romantic relationship with a third line, this doesn’t mean they need to constantly break up and make up (which they very well may do depending on conditioning and awareness) but moreso they may need to take their space, their freedom, or perhaps even sleep in a different room. Quite literally breaking and making bonds daily. Ra talks about the importance of sleeping in separate rooms when in partnerships and as it relates to 3rd lines, he describes the reasons as the ability to make and break bonds daily which is healthy for the 3rd line. “When operating correctly as true self, however, there is no such thing as failure for the 3rd line - only discovery”. - Ra Uru Hu0 points
